Shonagh Marshall, gestalt therapist

I work in a person-centred, non-judgemental way, focusing on what is coming up for you in the moment. Everyone is different, and my approach is to get to know you. Together, we explore past experiences, the creative adaptations you have developed, and how these patterns may or may not continue to serve you today. It is relational work, and everything is co-created – it can be as deep, fun and imaginative as we make it.

I trained at the Gestalt Centre for Psychotherapy and Training in New York, where I graduated from both the Licensed Psychoanalytic Programme and the Certificate Programme in Gestalt Therapy. I also have specific trauma training; I am a Somatic Trauma Therapies Practitioner and hold a certification in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Research Foundation.

In addition to being a gestalt therapist, I have over fifteen years of experience as a curator and writer, specialising in fashion and contemporary culture. This gives me a unique personal perspective on working in the creative industry and some of the challenges it poses. The clients I work with are often at a point of transition, when something that has long supported them – in their work or personal life – is no longer working.

Each session is 50 minutes long, and I am currently taking clients for long-term therapy in the UK and Europe. The fee is based on a sliding scale.
